Canadian Blind Hockey developed a Girls & Women’s program stream with a series of events, and we announced the first in-person Girls and Women’s Blind Hockey Summit in 2022.
We are always looking to recruit new girls and women to Blind Hockey programs across Canada and are proud of the work of our Girls and Women’s Coordinator Laura Mark and Ambassador Natalie Spooner.
The 2023 Girls and Women’s Summit:
The Women’s Division included more the 25 Girls & Women taking part in a training camp & scrimmage on Thursday, playing a Showcase game on Friday, and participating in a training camp and scrimmage on Saturday. The majority of the players in the Women’s Division have indicated they will also be playing co-ed in Youth, Low Vision & Development, and Open Divisions. This allows an opportunity for players who would like to participate in Nationals but do not want to compete in a co-ed setting.
For more information and to get involved with planning the event please contact our Girl’s and Women’s Program Coordinator Laura Mark at lauramark@blindicehockey.com.
