Try Blind Hockey School Field Trips
The Canadian Blind Hockey Try Skating and Blind Hockey School Field Trip programs are one day introductory field trips where students aged 4 – 18 who are blind or partially sighted come to an arena where they get to interact with peers who share the same disability. During the day they learn about the sport of hockey, the importance of sport and physical activity, the Paralympic movement, and of course get to try skating and Canada’s national winter sport! The aim of the program is to introduce the parasport of Blind Hockey, teach the students that sport and recreation is available to them in spite of their disability, and inspire the children to live a healthy active lifestyle. Canadian Blind Hockey typically runs between 15 – 30 of these programs across Canada annually. If you would like to bring a Try Blind Hockey Event to your community please download the information package and contact program manager Luca DeMontis.
