2024 Eastern Regional Blind Hockey Graphic

Canadian Blind Hockey is pleased to announce that the 2024 Eastern Regional Blind Hockey Tournament is heading to Mississauga November 2 – 3, 2024 during the Cruisers Cup Para Ice Hockey Tournament. The Cruisers Cup features teams from across Canada and the United States and has grown from an original 20 teams to over 40. Players range from Junior to elite divisions, where the top division often includes National team members.

“It’s important for our organization to continue partnering with like-minded organizations like Cruisers Sports to continue gaining momentum for different variations of hockey, like Para Hockey and Blind Hockey,” explains Matt Morrow, Executive Director of Canadian Blind Hockey. “These regional events are important to ensure that all Blind Hockey participants across Canada can play closer to their local community and feel that support. The Cruisers Cup is a great tournament and we are thrilled to support Para Hockey by taking part in this event.”

The 2024 Eastern Regional Blind Hockey Tournament is open to all Blind Hockey participants who want to play, no matter which region they are from. All games will be free to attend in person. Easterns made news last year when the first ever Blind Hockey game was played on NHL ice, at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. Canadian Blind Hockey went on to win the Abilities Centre’s “Accessible Moment of the Year” award for 2023 for this momentous event.

Canadian Blind Hockey proudly hosts 4 major events per year or more, including the Canadian National Blind Hockey Tournament set to return for its 11th year March 21 – 23 2025 at Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.  With 11 programs nationwide, the charity works to ensure that children, youth and adults who are blind or partially sighted have access to Canada’s game.
