It was a successful weekend at the 2025 International Blind Ice Hockey Series in Montreal as the Canadian National Blind Hockey Team hoisted the trophy for the 6th time. The USA Blind Hockey Team put up a great battle as the teams went head-to-head in the best of three series.
In truly a full-team effort every skater on the Canadian National Blind Hockey Team recorded at least one point.
Assistant Captain Jason Yuha led the tournament in both goals and points scoring and impressive 9 goals, and 5 assists in 3 games.
Local Montreal stars Thomas Raymond and Bruno Haché both had excellent tournaments in front on their home crowds with Raymond finishing 4th in scoring with 5 goals and 7 points, and Haché scoring 2 goals while adding an assist.
The Canadian goalies stood tall allowing only 3 goals in the three games – including a shutout in Game #3.
We saw great effort by Team USA’s Blake Steinecke, who led their offence with 2 assists, while they had three different goal scorers.
Huge stick tap to the team at Défi sportif AlterGo for their inclusion of Blind Hockey in this year’s event for the first time since 2011!
