2026 Canadian Blind Hockey Presents the First-Ever BC Blind Hockey Cup at Inaugural One Ability Games

May 16 – 17, 2026

Canadian Blind Hockey is thrilled to announce the first-ever BC Cup taking place May 16 & 17 during the OneAbility Games. This is a can’t miss weekend of Blind Hockey action with three games taking place over the May long weekend in beautiful Richmond, British Columbia.

This BC Cup be a two-team three-game series Blind Hockey players and goalies coming in from across Canada. Each of the BC Blind Hockey programs including the Vancouver Jr Canucks, the Vancouver Eclipse Blind, and the Victoria Canucks Blind Hockey Teams will be well represented.

“Being part of the One Ability Games is incredibly important for Canadian Blind Hockey because it shows students that Blind Hockey exists and thrives within the Parasport community,” explains Matt Morrow, Executive Director of Canadian Blind Hockey. “We’re thrilled to bring the first-ever BC Cup to the One Ability Games this May in Richmond, showcasing high-level Blind Hockey and celebrating the strength of our programs in British Columbia. The Blind Hockey community in BC is vital to the growth of our organization and shows the importance of these programs.

“These events spark curiosity, open doors, and help young people with disabilities see what’s possible through sport,” explains Andrea Carey, Director of Games, OneAbility Games. “Blind Hockey belongs, and we’re excited to include this incredible fast-paced on ice Parasport amongst these other incredible games.”

Saturday May 16

Game # 1: 11:15 am – 12:45 pm

Game # 2: 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Sunday May 17

Game # 3: 11:15 am – 12:45 pm

About the OneAbility Games 2026

Celebrating the power of inclusive sport! This dynamic, multi-sport disability event creates opportunities for K-12 students to participate in sporting events—for maybe their first time—while becoming inspired by showcase events featuring competitive athletes from the disability sport community.  In addition to the Canadian Blind Hockey BC Cup the event will include the Canadian National Championships for Wheelchair Basketball and Goalball.
