This year’s camp is expected to include more than 40 Blind Hockey players from across Canada, USA and Finland participating in the Development and High-Performance Divisions. 

WHAT: Canadian Blind Hockey is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Canadian Blind Hockey Summer Development Camp is happening July 11 – 14 in Mississauga, Ontario, presented by the CNIB Foundation. This year’s camp is expected to include more than 40 Blind Hockey players from across Canada and around the world including the USA & Finland participating in the Development and High-Performance Divisions. Last week, Canadian Blind Hockey hosted the Children and Youth Multi-Sport Camp in partnership with CNIB Foundation’s Lake Joe Camp Abilities, which was a great successful partnership.  

WHO: 

  • Mark DeMontis, Founder, Canadian Blind Hockey and Willie O’Ree Community Hero Award 2024 recipient 
  • PLUS Canadian Blind Hockey participants, invited youth Blind Hockey players & members of the 2024 Canadian National Blind Hockey Team  

ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 

The 2024 Canadian Blind Hockey Summer Development camp will feature two Blind Hockey Showcase games that are FREE and open to the public held at Tomken Arena, 4495 Tomken Rd, Mississauga. 

We will also showcase the games live on Canadian Blind Hockey’s Youtube channel 

Saturday July 13 times: 

  1. Mark DeMontis, Willie O’Ree Award Winner at Youth Practice: 11:00am – 1:30pm 
  1. Development Camp: 2:30pm – 4:00pm 
  1. High Performance: 4:00pm – 5:30pm

About Canadian Blind Hockey: 

Canadian Blind Hockey is a charity that changes the lives of children, and youth who are blind or partially sighted by providing Blind Hockey programming including introductory try-it sessions, development camps, regional and national competitions, and by supporting the Canadian Blind Hockey Teams. 

The parasport of Blind Hockey is played by athletes whose level of vision ranges from legally blind – which is approximately 10% vision – to completely blind, using an adapted puck that makes noise and is bigger than a traditional puck.
