Thank you to the Parliamentary Secretary for Ministers of Environment & Sport Adam Van Koeverden for hosting the Community Sport Summit in Ottawa this week. We were honoured to present on our initiative that introduced the Para sport of Blind Hockey to nearly 500 Canadians who are blind or partially sighted – including 150 participants who were black, indigenous, people of colour or newcomers – as we continue to make the game more inclusive and diverse across Canada. Thank you to the Government of Canada for supporting accessible hockey programming across the country. We’ve grown participation in Blind Hockey from only 4 to now 15 teams over the past 15 years, and are looking forward to continuing to work with our National Program Partners the CNIB Foundation to keep it growing for the next 15 years with support from programs like CSAI.
