The Ontario Cup November 6, 7, 8
Canadian Blind Hockey is thrilled to announce the inaugural Ontario Cup, taking place November 6–8, 2026, at Tom Brown Arena in Ottawa, Ontario.
The 2026 Ontario Cup will bring together Blind Hockey athletes from across Canada and beyond for an exciting and inclusive showcase of the Para sport in the nation’s capital. This tournament will feature players who are blind or partially sighted competing at a high level, demonstrating skill, determination, and the speed of Blind Hockey.
The Ontario Cup will feature both an Open Division and a Youth Division and is open to players from anywhere in the world. This tournament marks the first time a regional Canadian Blind Hockey event outside of the Canadian National Blind Hockey Tournament has included a dedicated youth division.
“This tournament truly highlights the growth of Blind Hockey programs not only in Ottawa, but across Ontario and throughout Canada,” said Luca DeMontis, Director of Programs for Canadian Blind Hockey. “For the Ontario Cup to include a separate youth division demonstrates that more families are discovering Blind Hockey at a younger age, which is extremely promising for the future growth and sustainability of the Para sport.”
Ottawa is home to two successful Blind Hockey programs: the Ottawa Children and Youth Blind Hockey Program, in partnership with the OSEG Foundation, and the Ottawa Adult Blind Hockey Program.
“The Ontario Cup is a celebration of how far the Para sport of Blind Hockey has come over the past 15 years in Canada,” said Matt Morrow, Executive Director of Canadian Blind Hockey. “It’s about creating more opportunities at both the recreational and competitive levels for athletes who are blind or partially sighted to experience this great game. The Ontario Cup will provide a competitive and welcoming environment for athletes of all ages and skill levels while helping raise awareness of Blind Hockey throughout the local community.”
Canadian Blind Hockey is now accepting applications from individuals interested in joining the Ontario Cup Organizing Committee and player registration. Committee members will work alongside Canadian Blind Hockey staff and volunteers to support all aspects of planning and hosting this exciting event.
